At its August 21 session, the executive branch approved the draft law “On Climate,” which for the first time establishes the legal and institutional framework for climate policy, outlining the powers and responsibilities of state, regional, and local government bodies.

The representatives from various bodies, including the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the RA; the Ministry of Economy of the RA; the Ministry of Finance of the RA; the Water Committee of the Ministry of Territorial Administration; the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body; the Urban Development and Cadastre Committees; the staff of the Governor of Gegharkunik; and the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RA.

The two-day Ecothon ՛25 event was held within the framework of the “Strengthening Sustainable Climate Resilience of Armenian Communities through Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Practices” project, implemented by the “Women in Climate and Energy” NGO and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES Armenia) in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment of the RA and the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the RA.
