The First Session of the Interdepartmental Working Group Established to Address the Problems of Atmospheric Air Pollution Was Held

Today, the first session of the interdepartmental working group established to address the problems of atmospheric air pollution was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan.
During the session, a number of agenda issues were discussed, in particular, the participants of the session were presented with the results of atmospheric air quality monitoring in Yerevan over the past 3 years and the main issues arising from them, the provisions of legislative regulations and drafts developed in the field of air quality assessment, the results of implemented and ongoing control works aimed at protecting atmospheric air in the context of recorded violations and applied administrative measures, as well as the process of inventorying the sources that have the most negative impact on air quality in Yerevan and the proposed measures to reduce pollution caused by them.
The participants also discussed the existing problems within the framework of control measures to prevent emissions from motor vehicles and possible solutions to them.
Reference was made to the proposals being developed for the complete digitalization of the engine emissions measurement process within the framework of technical inspection of motor vehicles, the technical re-equipment of inspection stations, and the use of electronic control tools.
At the end of the session, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan emphasized the importance of the continuity of interdepartmental cooperation and gave relevant instructions.
