Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan Met with Petr Pirunčík, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Armenia
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of sectoral issues. Reference was made to the two-year Twinning Programme “Strengthened Protection and Sustainable Use of Biodiversity in Armenia in Line with European Standards,” coordinated by the Ministry of Environment of the RA and funded by the European Union. The programme was jointly implemented by the Czech Republic and the Republic of Finland.

Meeting with Sectoral Representatives of the Committee Established to Organize and Conduct COP17
Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, met with Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, and sectoral representatives of the committee established to organize and conduct COP17. The discussion focused on the ongoing preparatory work for the conference, particularly on infrastructure development and ensuring the high-level organization of the event.

This marks Astrid Schomaker’s regular visit to Armenia to review the preparatory work for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (#COP17), scheduled to be held in Armenia in 2026.
