22 fishing nets were withdrawn from Lake Sevan, 5153 whitefish were confiscated
Taking into consideration the note (November 30, 2020) of the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, and the five-sided activities on the period of natural whitefish reproduction, in a bid to ensure the natural fish reproduction, on December 2020 and on January 2021, 5,153 whitefish (weighing 1,837 kg) were confiscated at Dilijan checkpoints, from the shores and water mirror area of Lake Sevan, due to joint supervision and preventive measures performed by the workers of “Sevan” Road Police, the Inspectorate for Nature Protection and Mineral Resources and the workers of “Sevan” national park SNCO and the Police.

From March 2021, the wages of the workers of "ArmForest" SNCO will be raised by 20-70.000 AMD. The wages of foresters and forester managers will be raised by 20.000 AMD.

Summing up completed grant projects
The RA Ministry of Environment is the executive body of “Support Programme for Protected Areas-Armenia” program.
"Rainbow" Leaders' Educational Center, which won the grant in the frames of the 2nd phase of the Small Grants Component (SGC) of the SPPA-A program fulfilled "Implementation of Eco-Education and Establishment of Eco-Corners at Kapan and Kajaran schools" project in 6 schools of 8 settlements of Kapan-Kajaran communities; the objective of which was to improve the level of eco-education in public schools.

The officers of the SNCOs under the Ministry of Environment have summarized 2020
Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan held a meeting. The Directors of the SNCOs under the Ministry summed up 2020; submitted the achievements of the year, the implemented activities, recorded problems, by presenting brief reports, spoke about the priority directions set for 2021.

Addressing the guests, the Minister extended a vote of thanks for the initiative of the meeting, and stressed that the close cooperation with international partners, European countries, remarkably with EU member states is very important in environmental management.
