The Current Work on Enhanced Control Measures Due to the Whitefish Spawning Period Was Discussed

Today, the process of implementing the joint event program during the whitefish spawning period in Lake Sevan was discussed in an expanded format. The participating departments reported on the work already done and presented the problems. It was reported that meetings with fishermen are continuing to explain the importance of the fishing ban during the spawning period.
The Minister noted that this year, citizens continue to voluntarily remove their watercrafts, fishing gear, and temporary shelters from Lake Sevan and the territory of Sevan National Park.
Those in charge were instructed to remain focused and conduct regular monitoring to ensure that these positive trends continue.
During the meeting, the existing issues related to the storage of confiscated fish stocks and studies conducted by the scientific community were also discussed.
