September 18 Is the World Water Monitoring Day

September 18 is World Water Monitoring Day, established by America's Clean Water Foundation (ACWF) in 2003.
World Water Monitoring Day is an international education and outreach program that builds public awareness of the importance of protecting water resources around the world by engaging with people to conduct basic monitoring of their local water bodies.
Nowadays, surface and underground water pollution is a serious problem both in the world and in Armenia, and it is important to know what water we use, how clean our rivers and lakes are, what pollutants and harmful substances freshwater sources contain.
The answers to these and a number of other questions are provided by the "Armhydromet" SNCO that carries out water quality and quantity monitoring.
"Armhydromet" SNCO monthly and quarterly prepares reports on the water quality and classification of aquatic ecosystems in Armenia.
Assessment of both quantitative and qualitative indicators is carried out.
