On July 12, "The EU for the environment within the framework of the "water resources and environmental data" project, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development organized a workshop on the assessment of the favorable investment environment in the field of water security in Armenia.
Preliminary results of the assessment were presented and a discussion was held on options for overcoming the barriers to the investment environment in the water sector, as well as opportunities for improvement.
Gayane Gabrielyan, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environment of the RA, made a welcome speech at the workshop, who highlighted the importance of the ongoing study, considering that one of the main obstacles to the improvement of water services in Armenia is the lack of finances or the insufficient level of finance mobilization.
As a result of the organized discussions, the main priorities were highlighted, on which the research team will present recommendations for overcoming obstacles. An agreement was reached to present the results of the study to the discussion and opinion of the interested parties. in September.
