The rates for nature use fees for biological resources that are objects of the fauna, along with the payment procedure, will be reviewed.
Hakob Simidyan, the Minister of Environment of Armenia, presented the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia during the March 4th National Assembly session. The draft law proposes revising the nature use fee rates for wildlife and the procedure for their payment.
This project proposes, in its first phase, a complete revision of the nature use fees for biological resources that are objects to fauna.
The rates are planned to be increased by approximately twice the current amount, except for whitefish, where the rate is expected to triple—from AMD 65 per kilogram to AMD 200.
The submitted draft also proposes revising the procedure for paying the natural resource use fees, suggesting that it will be based on the amount specified in the contract or license, rather than the actual volumes used.
