The proposed amendments will contribute to the effective implementation of a unified policy and international obligations in the field of meteorological services

The Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration of the National Assembly of Armenia discussed today the draft law proposed by the Ministry of Environment "On Making Amendments to the Law on Hydrometeorological Activities”
According to the presentation of the Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan, the proposed additions are due to the need to fulfill the requirements of the decision of the EAEU Supreme Eurasian Economic Council dated May 29, 2019 No. 4 and to grant the authorized body the authority to maintain the state register of individuals and legal entities providing services in the field of meteorology and weather forecasting, their accounting. The adoption of the draft will ensure the harmonization of the law with the legal order of the EAEU, contributing to the effective implementation of a unified policy and international obligations in the field of meteorological services.
Gayane Gabrielyan answered questions regarding the maintenance of the register, criteria of functions. 
The Acting Director of the "Hydrometeorology and Monitoring  Center " SNCO Levon Azizyan also presented his observations on the maintenance of the register.
The project received a positive conclusion.
