Minister Hakob Simidyan received the delegation led by Sameh Wahba, Regional Director for Sustainable Development of Europe and Central Asia of the World Bank (WB) office in Armenia.
After welcoming the partners, the minister thanked the World Bank for supporting the environmental reforms of the Republic of Armenia and joint efforts aimed at its development.
In his turn, Mr. Wahba assessed the cooperation of the parties as effective and productive and thanked the minister for the close cooperation within the framework of the implemented projects.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues.
In particular, "RESILAND: Armenia Resilient Landscapes Project" was discussed between the Republic of Armenia and the World Bank. 
The draft of the Government's decision on approving the recommendation to sign the grant agreement was approved at the Government session on May 2, 2024.
Funded by the Global Environmental Fund and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, "RESILAND: Armenia Resilient Landscapes Project" grant agreement targets the implementation of a number of commitments and policies adopted by the Government of the RA in the field of environmental protection, particularly in the context of biodiversity conservation, revegetation of abandoned and derelict mines, reforestation and regulation of the relevant legislative framework.
The measures provided in the agreement derive from a number of priorities of the Government's project.
During the meeting, issues related to the effective management of hazardous materials and waste were also discussed, the parties agreed to continue discussions in this direction for active cooperation.
