At the session of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan presented the draft of the relevant decision of the Government, by which it is planned to create 4 new public beaches in the coastal areas of Sevan, adjacent to Lchap, Shoghakat, Gavar and Martuni communities.
"The adoption of the legal act is the creation of an accessible recreation opportunity for all sections of the public in the territory of the "Sevan" National Park," said the minister. After the creation of public beaches, they will be provided competitively to individuals or legal entities under the condition of improvement, furnishing and maintenance. The following free services operate and will operate on public beaches: access to the beach, changing rooms, public toilets, washrooms, first aid station, rescue service, playgrounds for children, organization of garbage collection and presence of cleaning stations. The contractor must also submit prospective investment and additional job creation plans. "Of course, there will also be paid services by service companies. We have also developed such standards so that citizens' rest in public spaces is proper: smoking is not allowed, loud music is not allowed, more precisely, the music will be from one point, only weak alcoholic drinks are allowed. We have such standards so that our citizens can not disturb each other in those areas of public recreation and properly organize their recreation," said Minister Hakob Simidyan. The minister also informed that currently there are 8 public beaches on the coast of Sevan: 2 city beaches of Sevan, peninsula beach, Drakhtiki, Lchashen, Tsovazard, Noratus and Tsovagyugh public beaches. Out of 8 public beaches, only 3 - the beaches of Sevan and the peninsula - are equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, toilets, playgrounds, parking lots, changing rooms, benches, first aid station, rescue station and other necessary services. As a result of the held tenders, the furnishing works of the other beaches were started, and in Noratus beach 1, as a result of the announced tenders, no bids were submitted. On the recommendation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, approaches to the organization of recreation on public beaches will be reviewed.
