The presentation of the National Resource Mobilization Plan was successfully held. This event was carried out as part of the “Environmental Program Implementation Unit” SA grant program titled “Implementation of Armenia’s LDN Commitments Through Sustainable Land Management and Restoration of Degraded Landscapes.”
Representatives from government bodies, international organizations, sectoral partner institutions, the scientific community, and NGOs attended the meeting. Tigran Gabrielyan, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environment of the RA, delivered the opening speech and emphasized the importance of achieving systematic and long-term results.
“Our goal is not only to implement land conservation and restoration programs, but also to establish an effective, sustainable, and collaborative platform that involves the state, communities, scientific institutions, and partner organizations. Through this approach, we can achieve results that are structured, targeted, and have a long-term impact.”
The meeting focused on mobilized resources, joint efforts, and the right strategic approaches that will enable the restoration and sustainable use of land ecosystems for the benefit of future generations.
This initiative represents a significant step toward strengthening national efforts in land restoration and sustainable management, enabling the effective coordination of existing resources and capacities. The plan serves as a roadmap for mobilizing financial and technical capabilities, while also fostering joint efforts and collaboration among all stakeholders
This National Resource Mobilization Plan serves not only as a strategic guideline, but also as a comprehensive roadmap that outlines existing opportunities, ongoing and planned programs, and new avenues for collaboration aimed at the effective conservation and restoration of land resources.
The discussion also highlighted gender issues, emphasizing the importance of actively involving women in sustainable land management and agricultural programs. In addition, participants presented practical mechanisms for identifying grant opportunities, establishing effective communication with donors, and building long-term partnerships.
The meeting concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which participants raised several key issues that will serve as important focal points for future work and discussions.
The project is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Environmental Program Implementation Unit (EPIU) SA of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
