Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, Participated in a Panel Discussion at the “Greenovate” Youth Summit

At the “Greenovate” Youth Summit, held within the framework of the Sevan Startup Summit 2025, Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, participated in a panel discussion focused on aligning national priorities with global biodiversity goals, strengthening institutional cooperation, and promoting inclusive decision-making in the lead-up to COP17.
During the discussion, which included government officials and representatives of international organizations, Deputy Minister Aram Meymaryan presented Armenia’s approaches and ongoing efforts aimed at the conservation and restoration of biodiversity. He also addressed the four fundamental goals of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
The discussion further emphasized the importance of engaging all segments of society in the biodiversity conservation process.
The discussion also addressed expectations regarding the renewal of Armenia’s National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP), which was last updated in 2015. Deputy Minister Aram Meymaryan emphasized that the updated NBSAP will feature clearer goals and targeted actions focused on ecosystem restoration, enhanced management of protected areas, and strengthened community engagement.
