The trail construction works started in 2023 at the initiative of "Sevan Hiking Club", in cooperation with "Trails for Change" NGO, French AFRAT and "HIKEArmenia".
In his welcoming speech, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of the regulated organization of nature tourism, as well as the cooperation with the state departments that develop policies in the field.
Aram Meymaryan also thanked the attendees and the representatives of non-governmental organizations of Gegharkunik Region for constantly keeping the problems of Lake Sevan in the center of attention and for the work being done to increase the attractiveness of the lake as a tourist center.
The hiking trail begins at Sevan Botanical Garden, which is situated 2,000 meters above sea level, and is home to over 450 species of plants. Continuing northeast, the trail climbs up nearly 345m to Arjanots Mountains, which form the southeastern part of Pambak Range. Throughout the ascent, you can admire the views of Lake Sevan, Arjanots, Geghama and Areguni Mountains.
After walking 5 km along the trail, you will see Sevan Peninsula (it used to be an island, in the 1930s it turned into a peninsula due to the artificial lowering of the water level). After a 3 km descent from the ridgeline you will arrive at Sevan Peninsula.
