Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meymaryan participates in the “Nature Summit 2025” high-level conference held in Panama, where he delivered a speech as co-chair.
Deputy Minister Meymaryan expressed gratitude to the Government of Panama for the initiative and emphasized that global cooperation on nature conservation has never been more crucial. He noted that the world is facing growing challenges such as biodiversity loss, climate change, and land degradation.
“This summit is not just about nature — it is about rethinking our relationship with it. Only through cooperation, trust, and joint action can we achieve real change,” said Aram Meymaryan.
The Deputy Minister noted that Armenia, as the host country of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), is fully committed to advancing global efforts in biodiversity conservation. He emphasized that Nature-based Solutions represent a new and unifying approach that bridges the three Rio Conventions.
The event was hosted by Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, and co-chaired by Juan Carlos Navarro, Minister of Environment of Panama.
