Modern Approaches to the Restoration of Degraded Pastures

Drone-based fertilization was carried out in the Tumanyan and Sisian Communities within the framework of the “Implementation of Armenia's LDN Commitments Through Sustainable Land Management and Restoration of Degraded Landscapes” grant project.
During the operation, a controlled unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) was used to apply organic bioliquid to vegetated areas, ensuring highly efficient foliar nutrition.
The use of this technology significantly contributes to the efficient organization of the restoration process in hard-to-reach and inaccessible areas, where mechanical intervention is not feasible. It also promotes the economical and targeted use of renewable resources.
The project is implemented with funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) by the Environmental Project Implementation Unit (EPIU) of the Ministry of Environment of the RA, in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
