The program "Mitigating human-wildlife conflict caused by climate change in Armenia" has been launched

The program "Mitigating human-wildlife conflict caused by climate change in Armenia" was launched on May 13 within the framework of a meeting-discussion in which participated Aram Meimaryan, the Deputy Minister of Environment, John Gallagher, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Armenia, representatives from the Ministry, the Provincial Government of Vayots Dzor , the Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology of the National Academy of Sciences of the RA and from various environmental organizations. 
As a result of the discussion, a number of important provisions were noted to be used as a guideline for the Foundation.
The program aims to develop and implement strategies to mitigate the effects of climate change in the context of human-bear conflict.
Targeting Yeghegis Municipality of Vayots Dzor, the program aims to increase local residents' resilience to climate change impacts by providing capacity increasing opportunities and promoting alternative income generation.
The project is funded by the UK Government through the Darwin Initiative.
