Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA met with Bernadette Arakwiye, Minister of Environment of the Republic of Rwanda.
The parties discussed prospects for developing cooperation between Armenia and Rwanda, particularly in the areas of environmental protection, climate change, and biodiversity conservation.
They also highlighted broad opportunities for collaboration on multilateral platforms, including within the frameworks of Africa’s Agenda 2063 and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
During the meeting, Minister Matevosyan also touched upon the organization of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17). Rwanda was invited to be represented at the conference at a high level and to actively contribute to shaping its agenda, in order to ensure effective dialogue and broad participation on key global environmental issues.
