Digitization of the sector continues. A memorandum of cooperation for digitization of afforestation and reforestation works had been signed.
The Ministry of Environment, represented by Secretary General Sergo Atanesyan, and "SoulMe" LLC, represented by Director Pavel Khachatryan, signed a memorandum of cooperation, taking into account the importance of the conservation of the environment and the reasonable use of natural resources of the Republic of Armenia, the prevention or reduction of harmful effects on forests, as well as the importance of sustainable management, conservation, protection, reproduction and use of forests, as well as the fact that the Ministry of Environment has the need of implementing large-scale afforestation and reforestation works in the long-term perspective, taking into account, as well as aiming to contribute to the restoration of forest resources through innovative software and electronic and technical solutions, to prevent the degradation of forest ecosystems damaged by the impact of negative factors, to ensure the increase of forest productivity, to preserve forest biodiversity, to expand natural regrowth and forest areas.
With the memorandum, the parties expressed their willingness to unite their efforts within the limits of the Legislation of the RA, investing their professional, human and technical resources and potential for the implementation of joint programs and measures of mutual interest aimed at environmental protection, improvement and restoration.
