Within the framework of strategic programs to improve the quality of environmental education, raise public awareness, and form the ecological consciousness of society, Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan made a speech yesterday. At the invitation of the student council of 118 high school, the annual student conference "I am a naturalist" was hosted.
Welcoming the participants of the conference, the Deputy Minister of Environment thanked the students for the invitation and once again touched upon the importance of solving environmental problems․
"If someone had told us 10-15 years ago that environmental problems in the world would dictate the agenda, perhaps we would have been skeptical and stressed that the priority areas of healthcare and the military industry of national security. But today the reality is different, today the environmental factor has become dictating.
Today, we talk daily about climate change in the world, the shortage of water resources, the increase in forests and other problems.
And in this context, the annual student conference "I am a naturalist", held by you for the fifth year, is extremely important. This indicates your timely progress and ideological progress. You are progressive even from many departments that only understand that in parallel with the growing environmental problems in the world, changes should be made to their functions and approaches," the Deputy minister noted.
Gayane Gabrielyan once again thanked the teachers, management staff and students of the school and urged them to continue consolidating efforts in the field of environmental risk management.
After the conference, the Deputy Minister got acquainted with the work carried out at the school within the framework of natural sciences.
