Since 2007, July 31 is celebrated worldwide as World Ranger Day. It was declared by the International Ranger Federation (IRF) to celebrate the contribution of the Rangers to nature conservation. 
The conservation and protection of forests and specially protected nature areas of the RA is legally entrusted to the Eco-patrol service of the Ministry of Environment.
Eco-patrol service:

• provides 24/7 protection of state forests, forest lands and specially protected nature areas,
• ensures compliance with the rules of conservation of state forests, forest lands and specially protected nature areas,
• carries out fire safety management in forests and specially protected nature areas,
• ensures or prevents the negative anthropogenic impact, etc. on the normal development of the conservation of the ecosystems and their components of specially protected nature areas in the RA.
