The Ban on Import and Export of Mercury-Added Products Has Been Extended

By the decision of the executive on August 15, the Republic of Armenia extended the ban on importing and exporting mercury-added products for six months.
The aim of the project is to protect human health and the environment from the anthropogenic effects of mercury and mercury compounds, which are highly toxic and harmful to human health, wildlife and ecosystems. The penetration of mercury into the human body often occurs during inhalation of its vapors, which have no smell. Exposure to even small amounts of mercury can cause health problems and severe poisoning.
The project was developed by the Ministry of Environment.
