From 5 January to 5 July 2026 inclusive, the export of ceramic waste from used vehicle catalytic converters from the Republic of Armenia will be temporarily banned. The relevant decision was adopted at a session of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The decision aims to enhance the level of environmental protection in the Republic of Armenia, particularly by reducing the uncontrolled emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere resulting from the operation of vehicles without catalytic neutralization systems. It is also intended to prevent the illegal circulation and dismantling of catalytic converters installed on vehicles.
