The youth of the regions of Armenia in the "Experimental Laboratory of Adaptability"

From July 25 to 27, the state institution "Environmental Program Implementation Office" of the Ministry of Environment brought together 40 young people from the regions of Armenia in the agro-educational center to give them lectures on climate change adaptation, to develop and present innovative environmental solutions in the communities.
For three days, young people got acquainted with climate change adaptation practices in agriculture, water resources management, healthcare, mitigation of change in energy and tourism, waste management, paper recycling; they reinforced what they heard with relevant practical work and experience exchange.
Welcoming the participants of the event, Armen Yesoyan, the acting director of the "BTSIG" PH, presented the purpose of the event to the young people, thanked them for coming together around the environmental agenda and expressed hope that the knowledge and experience gained during the event will be applied in the communities as much as possible for the benefit of the environment.
The event was carried out under the theme "Involvement of future leaders. creation of a digital educational module on adaptation issues and best practices for young people" within the framework of the grant program.
One of the components of the program was the eco-educational game "Legends" (app called "MyLegends"). the composition of the participants of the environmental event was formed from the young people who scored high points as a result of the game.
The 40 innovative ideas presented were diverse, from garbage removal, waste management to water resources management, protection of Lake Sevan, restoration of vulnerable plant and animal species, 10 of which were considered the best and received encouragement.
"Involvement of Future Leaders" funded by the Adaptation Fund of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and implemented by the State Institution "Environmental Program Implementation Office". Creating a Digital Education Module on Adaptability Issues and Best Practices for Young People" is the grant project's goal to educate a new generation of young people who initiate innovative solutions and changes in the context of environmental protection issues in developing countries through the creation and introduction of sustainable digital education for high school students.
