Exchange of experience in the framework of the activities of the Aarhus Centers

By order of the Minister of Environment, in order to develop a proposal for a new institutional and legal status of the Aarhus Centers, a working group has been established, which involves both employees of the Ministry and representatives of civil society.
As part of the working group's activities, an online meeting on the exchange of experience with colleagues from Georgia was held in an informal format on March 27.
She noted the importance of the role of the Aarhus Centers in the dissemination of the principles of the Aarhus Convention and the implementation of the three pillars in the region, and also thanked the Organizations for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE)
The National Coordinators of the Convention of Armenia and Georgia also noted the importance of the assistance of the Aarhus Centers in the implementation and implementation of the provisions of the Convention at the national level.
In 2013, it was expanded and transformed into the "Center for Environmental Information and Eco-Education".
The Head of the Center Tamar Aladashvili presented in detail the legal framework and functions of the center, as well as activities and upcoming plans.
The Head of the Environmental Protection Office, Christian Melis, noted the importance of Armenia's efforts to open the Aarhus centers and said that the OSCE, within the framework of the Aarhus Centers program, is ready to contribute to the process.
