On October 22-25, Tigran Gabrielyan, Deputy Minister of Environment and Lilit Abrahamyan, Head of the Water Policy Department of the Ministry of the Environment, participated at the closing event of the “EU4Environment - Water Resources and Environmental Data” Programme, as well as at the tenth session of the Meeting of the Parties (MOP 10) to the Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (Water Convention) organized in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
-At the EU programme's closing event held on October 22, Deputy Minister Tigran Gabrielyan delivered a speech on the strengthening of water resources monitoring and capacity building within the programme.
-Lilit Abrahamyan, Head of the Water Policy Department of the Ministry of the Environment, made a speech summarizing the main results of the study of the evaluation of the water sector's financing and investment environment.
At at the tenth session of the Meeting of the Parties (MOP 10) to the Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (Water Convention), Deputy Minister Tigran Gabrielyan presented a report on joint monitoring of transboundary water resources and cross-border cooperation to face the challenges of climate change.
-Lilit Abrahamyan presented a report on the role of the national policy dialogue in the water sector of Armenia and the upcoming priorities.
During the visit, a number of bilateral meetings were also held. In particular, on October 24, Tigran Gabrielyan met with Marco Keiner, Director of Environment Division at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), to discuss the further cooperation with the UN EEC.
