The Ministry of Environment has circulated a draft of the Government's decision "On approving the strategic ecological assessment procedure and the requirements submitted to the strategic ecological assessment report" on the e-draft.am platform for the publication of legal acts and drafts.
The draft establishes the procedure of strategic ecological assessment and the requirements to be submitted to the strategic ecological assessment report, describes the actions related to the implementation processes of the foundational document and the planned activities.
The adoption of the draft decision will provide an opportunity to ensure the obligations undertaken by RA under the international agreement. The proper application of the SEA tool will contribute to the integration of environmental, social and economic considerations in sectoral strategic documents, ensuring the long-term sustainability of economic development, ensuring public participation in the decision-making process, early detection of potential environmental risks and uncertainties, and obtaining long-term benefits.
