Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environment of RA A․Mazmanyan has admitted the representatives of Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU)

Today, Deputy Minister of Environment A. Mazmanyan has accepted the Head of the Caucasus Program Coordination of the German Nature Protection Union (NABU) V. Kovalyov and the head of the Armenian branch of the program N.Grigoryan.
The meeting was attended by the Minister's Adviser H. Martikyan and the Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Environment R.Grigoryan.
The Deputy Minister greeted the colleagues and noted that their visit coincided with the stage of extensive reforms carried out by the Ministry of Environment, and expressed readiness for closer cooperation with the German Nature Protection Union (NABU).
A.Mazmanyan presented the priorities of the Government of RA in the field of environment, briefly spoke about the reforms that have already started, spoke about the programs implemented by the ministry, which are aimed to reduce the anthropogenic pressure on nature in the communities adjacent to specially protected areas.
Mr.Kovalyov was pleased to state that the Ministry’s priorities in the field of environmental management coincide with the priorities of (NABU), so they can join efforts in that direction.
Presenting the ongoing reform processes, the Deputy Minister highlighted the work being done on the issue of white stork pollution, and as a result of months research, the main source of white stork pollution has been found out, and the process of neutralizing them will begin soon.
Referring to another environmental issue, Mr. Kovalyov noted that in Germany, the attempt to prevent the collision of birds on the power lines is successfully used. An agreement was reached to discuss the possibilities of exchanging experience in the near future.
A number of other issues were also discussed, which are related to the formation of a caring culture for the environment in Armenia, which can significantly affect the sustainable management and development of the sector.
