Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meymaryan received Global Ecological Fund (GEF) and Swedish International Development and Cooperation Agency (Sida) "RESILAND. To the representatives of the delegation of the World Bank and Sida in Armenia within the framework of the preparation mission of the Resilient Landscapes Program of Armenia.
During the meeting, the scope, structure, components and possible actions of the project were discussed, the institutional capacity and structures of the project implementation were evaluated, and the next steps of the project preparation were agreed upon.
The documents to be prepared with the Project Preparation Grant will be discussed and revised in the near future.
Within the framework of the Comprehensive and Extended Partnership concluded between the European Union and the Republic of Armenia, Armenia is currently approximating the country's legislation to the EU legislative framework. Taking into account the World Bank's many years of experience in the implementation of programs and policy development in the field of environmental protection, the issue of legal regulations on stench was raised within the framework of the meeting, as well as the implementation of international experience in the Republic of Armenia. It got a positive response.
