Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, met with Taukondjo Shikongo, Head of the Nagoya Protocol Unit of the Secretariat of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the process of the Republic of Armenia’s accession to the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization to the Convention on Biological Diversity.
Taukondjo Shikongo presented the main mechanisms and provisions of the Protocol, shared examples of successful international experience, and highlighted the role of state institutions and scientific organizations in its effective implementation.
