Department of Land and Subsoil Policy, Ministry of Environment

Head of the department: Arman Avetisyan, deputy head: Narine Hakobyan, chief specialists: Ani Khachatryan, Ashot Sukiasyan, Armine Gevorgyan, Karen Episkoposyan, Naira Petrosyan, specialist of the department: Naira Matevosyan.
The department carries out the following key functions in order to fulfill its tasks:
participation in the process of developing the main directions of policies, programs and strategies in the field of soil and subsoil protection, as well as drafting legal acts related to the field,
creation, replenishment, analysis of the information base on the environmental protection fund and the payments made for the monitoring of the mined area of minerals, the location of the industrial landfills generated during the extraction and the safety and health of the population of the communities adjacent to them, providing information to the state administration bodies within the functions of the ministry,
ensuring the process of coordination of temporary land schemes (verifying and fixing the arrangement of community lands according to their intended purpose),
participation in the fulfillment of the obligations assumed by the international agreements ratified by the Republic of Armenia in the field of soil and subsoil protection, cooperation with international organizations,
provision of professional opinion within environmental impact assessment and expertise.
