On June 19-26, "Youth for Change" was held in "Zangezur" Biosphere Complex of the Ministry of Environment, "Arevik" National Park SNCO. The first stage of the "Syunik 2022" project, which was carried out within the framework of the cooperation of "Paths for Change" NGO, "Transcaucasian Trail" NGO and "Zangezur" Biosphere Complex of the Ministry of Education and Culture, SNCO, with the co-financing of the Caucasus Nature Foundation and the US Forest Service.
A tent educational camp was set up in "Arevik" National Park, and 11 volunteers from different regions of RA were involved in it. The participants were selected from the 145 applicants registered as a result of a pre-conducted online survey through an interview.
During the camp held with the employees of Zangezur Biosphere Complex SNCO, the project participants had training in trail construction, as well as first aid training, working on the construction and marking of the trail stretching from Khustup to Meghri, which is part of the Transcaucasian Trail. As a result of the first stage, the volume of works carried out on the path stretching from Meghri to Khustup was 6 km.
The second stage of the project is planned to be implemented in September-October.
