The Ministry of Environment continues the tree planting launched within the framework of the "10 million trees" initiative with great vigour.
On April 17, 10.000 saplings will be planted in Gegharkunik region, in the territory of "Sevan" National Park in the frames of "10 million trees" initiative.
Prior to the tree planting, "Sevan" national park initiated cleanup activities on N1 public beach (from (63 km) road section of M4 Yerevan-Sevan-highway to the coastal section, 1.39 ha).
To properly organize the cleaning activates, the participants will be provided with garbage bags and gloves by "Sevan" national park.
The works will embark on at 09:00. The Ministry of Environment urges all residents of the community, educational institutions, representatives of non-governmental organizations and environmental initiatives to actively participate in the cleaning along the shoreline of Lake Sevan.
At 13:00, planting of poplar seedlings grown in the branch of the nursery will be supervised in Martuni district of Martuni branch of "Sevan" national park. 5000 saplings will be planted in Martuni district, the other 5000 in other communities of the region.
Presently, preparations are in progress for planting trees.
Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan, Acting Chairman of the Committee of Forest Artur Petrosyan, Acting Director of "ArmForest" SNCO of the Ministry of Environment Pavel Tsugunyan will also partake in the cleaning of the N1 public beach and tree planting.
