In the conditions of the declared state of emergency in the Republic of Armenia, state administration and local self-government bodies have reorganized their work, proposing citizens and organizations to write applications, inquiries and letters on urgent needs, problems and issues online.
Unfortunately, the flood of e-mails revealed the sad reality. Hundreds of Armenian citizens send Armenian e-mails to the relevant government bodies, which are written in foreign letters. This is a disrespectful attitude towards the state language of the Republic of Armenia - Armenian.
The Language Committee urges the citizens of the Republic of Armenia to comply with the requirements of the RA Constitution, the RA Law on “Language”, and to write Armenian e-mails addressed to state administration and local self-government bodies exclusively using Armenian script.
The Language Committee calls on the state administration and local self-government bodies not to proceed Armenian foreign-script e-mails received from the citizens of the Republic of Armenia.
