Due to the whitefish spawning period, enhanced control measures will be implemented in Lake Sevan and throughout Armenia until January 20, 2024 inclusive

Due to the whitefish spawning period, enhanced control measures will be implemented in Lake Sevan and throughout Armenia until January 20, 2024 inclusive.
- As part of the control measures, the representatives of the responsible departments will jointly conduct meetings with the leaders of the settlements adjacent to Lake Sevan, fishermen and citizens.
- Explanatory works will be carried out regarding the purpose of the event and the actions to be implemented, which is to ban whitefish hunting in Lake Sevan due to the spawning period of the fish species.
- In this context, swimming vessels, hunting tools and temporary shelters for fishermen will be removed from the territory of "Sevan" National Park.
- The entry of all types of hunting equipment and watercraft into Lake Sevan will be prohibited.
- Establishing strict control over all forest roads encircling Lake Sevana,
checkpoints will be located at the exits of the main roads leaving the region,
- Round-the-clock duty will be established in the territory of "Sevan" National Park.
-Inspections will be organized to exclude the sale of whitefish and fish in the markets of Yerevan and RA marzes.
Our citizens, our compatriots engaged in fishing, should clearly realize that such measures have one goal: to restore the ecosystem of Lake Sevan through the restoration of fish resources, which is in the interests of every citizen of the Republic of Armenia.
