The answer to every wrongdoing state is clear. A discussion of current work on enhanced control measures due to the Whitefish spawning period was held.
Under the leadership of Minister Hakob Simidyan at the Ministry of Environment, with the participation of representatives of the "Sevan" National Park, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Gegharkunik Governor's Office, the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body, the Yerevan Municipality, the Food Safety Inspection Authority, and the chairman of the Sevan Lake Protection Expert Committee.  The next extended consultation was held to discuss the implementation of the joint activities and cooperation program during the whitefish spawning period in Lake Sevan.
The representatives of the departments involved in the control measures reported to the minister about the progress of the works.  Numerical data on the number of seized fish and hunting tools were presented to the minister.
Minister Simidan emphasized once again that the protection of the whitefish species is a problem of ensuring food security.
"This is an event aimed at solving the most serious environmental and security problem, the ultimate goal of which is to restore the ecosystem of Lake Sevan through the restoration of fish stocks, which is in the interests of every citizen of the Republic of Armenia.
The state's response to every lawlessness is clear and will continue to be clear," said the minister.
Strict control measures will continue until January 20.
