Under the leadership of Tigran Gabrielyan, Deputy Minister of Environment, water resources management issues were discussed.
“Water Resources Management Development Program” experts of USAID Armenia, presented the methodology for determining the level of water resources overload, the calculation parameters, the calculations made on the example of the Southern Water Basin Management Area with different scenarios.
On the basis of the proposed methodology, a tool for determining the level of water resources overload will be created within the USAID "Water Resources Management Development in Armenia" program, which will later be integrated into the Decision Support System (DSS).
The level of water resources overload shows how much water resources are used. The accurate determination of the level of overload creates the basis for the development of more effective management policies, contributing to the efficient use of water resources, reducing water losses and improving water quality.
