The Ministry of Environment has published a draft for public discussion on the e-draft unified website for publishing legal acts, which provides for:

• limited provision of hydrogeological information: the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Centre” SNCO will not provide hydrogeological information for the prohibited communities of the Ararat Valley,
• stricter control of water resources in the Ararat Valley is expected, as well as effective enforcement of water use restrictions in prohibited communities,
• in order to increase the efficiency of water resource management in the Ararat Valley, the 2024 “Water Code” and the order of the Minister of Environment have established restrictions on the use of new boreholes in a number of communities in Ararat and Armavir regions. In these communities, the issuance of water use permits through new boreholes, as well as the use of operating boreholes for fish farming purposes, is prohibited.
