For years, the usage of Lake Sevan’s biodiversity has mostly taken place without taking into consideration the natural reproduction of bioresources. As a result of similar usage, the species have gradually degraded, even disappeared.
The fight against illegal fishing at Lake Sevan is in the spotlight of daily attention of the Ministry of Environment. The responsible subdivisions and subordinate structures of the Ministry closely cooperate with other state bodies, agencies and services, in order to provide a comprehensive and all-inclusive solution to the problem. Today, the state spares no effort in the framework of measures aimed at the restoration of Lake Sevan’s bioresources and rehabilitation.
Therefore, we urge our compatriots not to hinder the processes of streamlining and coordinating the sphere by their behavior.
Sustainable management of bioresources in Lake Sevan is in the interests of both Lake Sevan and all the citizens of Armenia.
