The discovered golden eagle has been released into the wild

The stone eagle found three weeks ago by the patrol service of Alaverdi city was released into the wild.
The young golden eagle, which most likely fell due to a collision with electric wires, was moved to Yerevan, cared for and rehabilitated by the efforts of "BirdLinks Armenia" and "Protection of Endemic and Endangered Species" NGOs.
Specialists of the Armenian branch of the German Nature Conservation Society installed a satellite sensor on the bird, with which they will follow the bird throughout its life.
In the last week of care, the bird was already ready for independent life. on September 4, the golden eagle was released by joint efforts in the territory of the "Khosrov forest" state reserve, near Mount Yeranos.
The stone eagle is a bird of prey included in the Red Book of Animals of Armenia. Although the population trend of golden eagles has been stable over the last 20 years, their overall number is relatively small, only 34-38 nesting pairs.
