Acting Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan held a consultation on the order of leasing forest lands for use defined by the law, as well as the establishment of a forest service.
 In attendance were Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment G. Gulyan, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Forest of the Ministry of Environment  A. Petrosyan, Deputy Director of "ArmForest" SNCO P. Tsugunyan, officers of specialized subdivisions.
The conditions of leasing forest lands to legal entities and individuals, legal regulations, as well as the essential for well-defined monitoring of environmental and sanitary norms were discussed.
Clear-cut criteria will be set for the use of forest lands, in case of which only the economic entity can sign a lease agreement.
It is envisaged to set up a rapid reaction group within the Committee of Forest in the near future, which will carry out proper 24-hour supervision  over forest lands during the week.
The Acting Minister discussed the details of establishing the service with his colleagues and expressed his expectations from the service: it must be equipped with a complete set of tools for forest protection and fully implement the mandate given to it.
The service in colloboration of a number of other agencies and law enforcement bodies, is focused on monitoring the proper performance of services of “ArmForest” SNCO, promoting the efficient use of forest resources, and fulfilling state management programs.
