Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, received a delegation led by Sergei Kopirkin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the progress of Armenia–Russia cooperation in the field of environmental protection and explored opportunities for its further development. The discussion covered potential cooperation in the areas of environmental impact regulation and standardization, economic instruments for sustainable management, conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, chemicals and waste management, state environmental control, environmental monitoring, as well as the development of technological and innovative solutions.
The parties also discussed the preparatory processes for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17).
