Second Group of Red Deer is Planned to Be Released into the Wild in the Near Future

Ara Mkrtchyan, Deputy Minister of Environment received Levon Aghasyan, Director of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Armenia Office, Karen Manvelyan, Head of the Biodiversity and Protected Areas Component of the "Biodiversity and Sustainable Local Development in Armenia" program , and Mher Sadoyan, Head of the "Caucasian Red Deer Reintroduction Program in Armenia".
Deputy Minister discussed with his partners the issues related to the cooperation of the Ministry and the structure, in particular, the issues related to the effective operation of the "Caucasian Red Deer Breeding Center" of "Dilijan" National Park and the planned release of the second group of red deer into nature.
Let us remind that the first group of three red deer, was released into Dilijan forest, in 2022.
7 cubs were born in Red deer breeding center of "Dilijan" National Park in recent months. There are currently 43 deer in the center and ten deer are planned to be released into the wild this fall.
Deputy Minister asked his partners to prepare properly for the event and do everything possible so that the lives of animals in the wild are not threatened.
