On September 13, the Second Group of Red Deer Bred in "Dilijan" National Park Will Be Released into the Wild within the Framework of the "Reintroduction of the Red Deer in Armenia" Program

The most anticipated environmental event: On September 13, the second group of red deer bred in "Dilijan" National Park (10 individuals) will be released into the wild within the framework of the "Reintroduction of Red Deer in Armenia" program.
Since 2013, the program "Caucasian Red Deer Reintroduction in Armenia" has been implemented by the Ministry of Environment of the RA and the Armenian branch of the World Wide Fund (WWF-Armenia), with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), KfW Development Bank, WWF Germany, the Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF).
In 2018, within the framework of the above mentioned program, 14 individuals were transferred from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia. The deer were transferred to "Dilijan" National Park, where the breeding center was built beforehand. In October of 2022, 3 deer were released in the territory of "Dilijan" National Park as a test group.
There are currently 44 deer at the center, 10 of which will be released into the wild as part of this event.
In the future, it is planned to release 5-10 individuals into nature every year.
