In the context of World Ranger Day, which is celebrated all over the world, the "Ranger 2024" award ceremony is being held in Armenia for the second time.
The day has been celebrated since 2007 and was declared by the International Ranger Federation (IRF) to celebrate the contribution of rangers to nature conservation.
The Ministry of Environment and its partner Caucasus Nature Fund announced the "Ranger 2024" award ceremony, the results of which were summarized by an interesting competition event organized in "Zikatar" State Sanctuary in Tavush Region of "Reserve Park Complex" SNCO of the Ministry of Environment.
61 employees from the SNCOs coordinating the protection of specially protected nature areas under the Ministry of Environment and the Eco-Patrol Service submitted applications for participation in the "Ranger 2024" award ceremony.
Ara Mkrtchyan, Deputy Minister of Environment, Vladimir Kirakosyan, Head of Eco-Patrol Service, Elizabeth Messud, Executive Director of Caucasus Nature Fund, Arman Vermishyan, Director of the CNF Armenian Representative Office, guests and media representatives participated in the event.
In his speech of welcome, Ara Mkrtchyan once again emphasized the dedication and effort that the employees of SNCOs and Eco-Patrol Service invest in their daily work.
According to Ara Mkrtchyan, this competition is aimed at increasing and highlighting the role of specialists engaged in the protection of specially protected nature areas and forests, and noted that the Eco-Patrol team formed by the Ministry is also aimed at increasing that role.
The committee evaluated each participant, then selected winners who were given certificates and cash prizes. The other participants with the best results were awarded gift cards by the Armenian brand "Lernetsee".
