The official logo and slogan of the COP17 were unveiled for the first time in Kenya, within the framework of the 7th session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7).
This marks an important milestone on the road to hosting COP17 in Yerevan.
Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity; Vahe Hovhannisyan, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia; Mher Margaryan, COP17 Special Negotiator; as well as the heads of international organizations and partners attended the event.
The logo is more than an image or a slogan—it reflects our shared vision of unity, purpose, and responsibility. Armenia is preparing to welcome the global biodiversity community with a firm conviction: the time has come to turn words into action and cooperation into systemic change.
At COP17, Armenia’s priority will be the real, measurable implementation of the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework through national policies, programs, and practical steps.
Equally important is the inclusiveness of the implementation process—ensuring that Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, women, youth, civil society, academia, and the private sector are full and equal partners.
Under the Armenian Presidency, COP17 aims to enhance synergies across biodiversity, climate, and land conservation, contributing to stronger policy coherence and tangible outcomes.
All of this is reflected in one clear message: “Taking action for nature”
As we officially unveil the #COP17 logo and slogan, we are confident that they will become lasting symbols of our collective commitment to fulfilling the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and advancing the promise of living in harmony with nature.
We look forward to welcoming the world to Armenia—united, determined, and taking action for nature.
