Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, and Aoki Yutaka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Armenia today signed the Agreement on the Provision of the “Economic and Social Development” Grant through an Exchange of Letters between the Republic of Armenia and Japan. Under the agreement, the Government of Japan will provide Armenia with a grant of approximately 1.7 million USD, which will be directed towards the modernization of air quality monitoring stations and the procurement of equipment for the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia.
