At its session of August 14, 2025, the Government of the Republic of Armenia approved the draft resolution “On the Consolidation of Real Estate and Its Consolidation with the Right of Gratuitous Use” submitted by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the RA. Under this decision, two land plots adjacent to the TV Tower on G. Hovsepyan Street in Yerevan, measuring 1.72 ha and 1.687 ha, have been consolidated under the “Armforest” SNCO of the Ministry of Environment of the RA for the purpose of creating a forest zone.
As a result of the Prosecutor General’s Office’s successful claims, the ownership rights of the Republic of Armenia over the land plots have been restored pursuant to rulings of the Anti-Corruption Court. These plots will be utilized within the framework of Armenia’s National Forest Programme, which seeks to increase the country’s forest cover to 12.9% by 2030.
This initiative represents a significant step in Armenia’s environmental policy, contributing to biodiversity conservation, improved air quality, and progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
