Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan Received the Delegation Led by Natia Natsvlishvili, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia

Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, received the delegation led by Natia Natsvlishvili, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the long-standing cooperation between the Ministry of Environment of the RA and UNDP—spanning more than two decades—as well as the implementation of current programmes and upcoming initiatives.
It was noted that over the years, the joint efforts have significantly contributed to fulfilling Armenia's obligations under international environmental conventions, while also supporting the improvement of national legislation and environmental management systems.
The parties discussed the progress of jointly implemented projects, potential solutions to existing challenges, and the ongoing development of the Climate Law. Particular attention was given to the " De-risking and Scaling-up Investment in Energy Efficient Building Retrofits" project, including possible approaches to ensure its continuity.
The Minister presented to his colleagues the organizational work underway for the COP17 conference, which will be held in Armenia in 2026.
The parties discussed possible avenues of support from UNDP, including the provision of technical expertise, assistance in identifying funding sources, and the engagement of expert capacities.
In conclusion, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation, highlighting their shared goal of strengthening Armenia’s presence and contributions on international environmental cooperation platforms.
