Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan received Tobias Munchmeier, Regional Director of the Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF)

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister A. Mazmanyan, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Environment R. Grigoryan, Arman Vermishyan Representative Office Director, Caucasus Nature Fund-Armenia.
Greeting the guests, Minister Romanos Petrosyan first congratulated Mr. Munchmeier on his appointment to the post of Regional Director of Regional Director of the Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF). Afterwards, he stated that the Ministry of Environment has a long and successful experience of cooperation with the Caucasus Nature Fund, and since his appointment as Minister, several pivotal collective projects have been launched. In specially protected areas, where joint projects are implemented with the backing  of the CNF, it is crucial that the management efficiency will increase, and the social and other components will benefit.
The Minister expressed hope that this meeting will give a new impetus to the deepening of bilateral relations in programs of mutual interest, a higher level of cooperation will be established.
The Minister also deemed it perspective to express his readiness to involve new cooperation programs with other systemic structures under the Ministry of Environment.
Thankful for the reception, Mr. Munchmeier, in his turn, emphasized that from the first weeks of his tenure he noticed that the Ministry of Environment is a important strategic partner for the Caucasus Nature Fund, that a number of reforms are already visible  in the sphere: remarkably  the reduction in the number of deforestation and  advancement of the  maintenance regime of sanctuaries.  
During the meeting the parties discussed a number of issues regarding current work. The Minister presented the programs aimed at the restoration of the ecosystem of Lake Sevan, which are presently  in an active process.
Deputy Minister A. Mazmanyan expressed his satisfaction with Arman Vermishyan, Representative Office Director, Caucasus Nature Fund-Armenia, for the coordinated institutional work.
Summing up the meeting, Minister Petrosyan assured his colleagues that the Ministry of Environment will do its utmost to ensure the continuity and expansion of active partnership relations, and on his behalf, he expressed willingness to support the fund in the issue of uninterrupted cooperation with other state agencies of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, thus assist in smoothing all kinds of problematic gaps.
